Tutoring Experience
Tutoring comes second hand for Myriad since 10th grade, working across various subjects with diverse students and adapting to different learning styles. Join me to sharpen your skills and stay on the right path to success.
I started tutoring in 10th grade as a volunteer with the Math Honor Society, helping students understand key concepts and prepare for the Math SOL exam. By senior year, I became president, overseeing tutor-student matching. I joined the Physics and American History Honor Society also, which required tutoring off respective subject.
In college, I worked as a private tutor, guiding students through introductory college math up to Calculus II. I also volunteered in the Eritrean community, mentoring K-12 students and offering academic support across various subjects.
During my senior year, I gained professional tutoring experience at a prep center, where I developed individualized improvement plans, assigned strategic homework, and prepared students for upcoming tests to strengthen their academic performance.
Through these experiences, I have learned patience in working with students of varying skill levels, adapting to different learning techniques to match individual needs, and refining my communication skills to explain complex concepts in an accessible way. I have seen firsthand how the right approach can make a difference in a student’s confidence and success.
Now, I offer tutoring services for K-12 students across all subjects, college mathematics, and preparation for end-of-year state exams, college entrance exams, and final exams. My approach is focused on building confidence, reinforcing foundational concepts, and ensuring students are equipped to succeed academically.
